We're Here to Help
"Adulting" and all of its complexities & responsibilities can be difficult to manage on a daily basis. When individuals feel unfulfilled, unhappy, worried, overwhelmed, or simply irritable, we believe talk therapy can be an amazing opportunity for individuals to process their thoughts and feelings, while learning skills to move towards the joys of adulting and aging with peace & balance.
Being a teenager in the 21st Century can be great, and sometimes it can simply "suck!" While teens throughout time may have felt unheard, misunderstood and even unaccepted by adults, today's teens are managing technology, social dilemmas, academic rigor and expectations, as well as information overload/exposure in real-time. At Coping Matters, we provide a safe, judgement-free space where teens can learn skills to navigate these unprecedented times.
Small children are always communicating their wants and needs to the adults in their lives, which is what makes them simultaneously vulnerable and wonderfully resilient! At Coping Matters, we use therapeutic interventions, such as "play therapy" to help children and families learn a range of skills to manage uncomfortable emotions, reduce undesirable behaviors, and improve problem solving across multiple environments.
We help families process conflicts and presenting concerns, with the intent on teaching skills to improve communication, increase empathy while reducing known and unknown barriers that may be impacting family functioning and harmony.
Our practice intends on offering psychoeducational and skill development groups in the future focusing on topics related to teens; social skill development; relationships; anxiety; and/or depressions.
Our practice currently provides parenting education and skill development in-session with and without child/teen clients; however, in the near future we will also offer court approved trainings for parents experiencing separation and/or divorce.
Our practice intends on offering and/or partnering with Licensed Psychologist to provide intelligence testing, achievement testing, as well as comprehensive psychoeducational assessments for school placement, IEPs or 504 plans.
